Covid 19 and greater Brisbane (including Logan), Bookings

Saturday, 09 January 2021 by

Greater Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and Moreton have all been declared hotspots by Queensland Health. As of 6pm Friday 8 January, these areas will go into lockdown for three days until 6pm on Monday night 11 January. For the first time Queensland Health has also mandated mask wearing within these areas. Kim Ellaway from QBA just advised that all bridge clubs in the affected areas must close over the weekend.

At this time we are not planning to close but we must ask that if you have been to any of these latest hotspot areas since 2nd January or been in close contact with someone from these areas, you must follow Queensland Health advise and get tested and isolate. Please do not come to the club until you have had 14 clear days from the date of your visit or first contact with a friend or relative.

The Board has agreed that there is a great risk of an outbreak on the Gold Coast. For this reason we will delay returning to single tables at the club which was due to happen on Monday 11th January. We will adopt a watch and wait scenario and update you further as soon as we can. We feel your disappointment but we have a duty of care to offer the best protection for our members.

You will need to revert back to registering for sessions on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The online registration system is back.  If you have any problem regarding the registrations please contact Liz Downer on 0416 244 654.  Thank you for your understanding.

Stay well
